From Radio Copywriter to Web Content Designer

  • “In 1974, I learned the true power of advertising through written content in my first copywriting position as Copy Director of KDHL Radio in Faribault, MN.
  • “In the early 80’s, as editor of the “Cathedral Bells”, the monthly newsletter of the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault, I began to learn design and layout concepts and how to create a union of imagery and words to precisely focus the reader’s attention on the main message in print content.
  • “In 1997, I purchased my first computer and immediately fell in love with digital design. Starting in 1997 under the name of Paquette Custom Gift and Printing, in 1999 I changed the business name to “Shyflower’s”, using a nickname suggested by a friend.
  • “In 1999, I purchased my first domain and opened Shyflower’s Garden and soon after, The Shyflower Press. Shyflower’s Garden was a literary online magazine that published short stories, articles, and poetry. The Shyflower Press published e-books and POD books from August 1999 to August 2001. Both were cited by Writer’s Market as “one of the best 25 places to get published on the Internet” in 2001. Personal reasons forced me to close the businesses.”
